MISSION STATEMENT

Scioto Hills has beautiful facilities, excellent programs, activities and outdoor opportunities, great meals, exceptional speakers, and an incredible staff.  But so do other camps.  So what makes Scioto Hills unique?  It may seem oversimplified but it can be summed up in one word: 

relationships. 

What distinguishes us is our ability to create an environment that makes it possible to experience life change through the art of building relationships.

That’s what we are all about.  We believe, better than anything else we do, God has gifted us with the ability to build into the lives of those He brings our way.  Whether its campers, pastors, retreat guests, or summer staff, developing Biblical relationships is what we do best.  It is the result of many of our core values, but primarily it springs from our desire to disciple at all levels.  It begins with the dynamics of our permanent staff, which feeds into the hearts and minds of our summer staff, which, in turn, flows into the lives of our campers and guests.  Sounds simple, but it’s the truth. 

At Scioto Hills, our main task--as we center on Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit--is to create an opportunity for spiritual growth.  This is best achieved by developing relationships with those God graciously sends our way.
